Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL)

Based in Los Angeles, APL (Athletic Propulsion Labs®) was founded in March 2009 by identical twins Adam and Ryan Goldston at the age of 22. As former dual-sport collegiate athletes, playing basketball and football at the University of Southern California, Adam and Ryan set out to create APL—a company that embodies the intersection of luxury and performance in athletic footwear and apparel. Today, APL is globally recognized as a leader in both men's and women's athletic footwear and apparel. Driven by technology and innovation, APL has been at the forefront of performance footwear since launching the Concept 1 basketball shoe, which featured the revolutionary Load N’ Launch® technology designed to instantly increase vertical leap. This groundbreaking shoe became the first to be banned by the NBA for providing "an undue competitive advantage" to its wearer. In June 2014, APL pioneered the "luxury performance segment" of the athletic footwear market with the launch of its running and training shoes for men and women. Combining world-class patented technologies with innovative design, APL products are now carried in over 300 of the finest luxury retailers worldwide, including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Net-A-Porter, Mr. Porter, Barneys New York, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, ShopBop.com, East Dane, Lane Crawford, Level Shoes, Matches Fashion, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, and Le Bon Marché. APL has recently launched global partnerships with American Airlines, F45, and the Williams Racing Team. Additionally, APL opened its first global flagship store at The Grove in Los Angeles in December 2019, further solidifying its presence in the luxury performance market.
